Mental Strength- Major "Dont's"

Here is an article that I was shown recently and I think it does a terrific job highlighting several behaviors and tendencies that can be hindering an athlete from being mentally tough and focused on their task at hand. The article is titled "13 things mentally strong people don’t do" by Steven Benna but it is actually taken originally from a book called "13 things mentally strong people don’t do" by author Amy Morin.

I personally think that all thirteen points can be strongly applied and used by all competitive athletes (at all different levels). Being mentally strong unquestionably gives you an edge over your opponent and allows you to more easily adjust and respond to situations and circumstances that are unfair, uncomfortable, unpredictable, or emotional. Everything from not dwelling on one’s past mistakes to not expecting immediate results can be used and applied to a competitive athlete. I really think that if someone bought into these messages, they would see a powerful difference in their athletic performance.
