Simple Abundance- by Sarah Ban Breathnach

Notes:

-You already have all the happiness you need in life… just need to realize it

-“Never forget that all you have is all you need”

- “You only live once—but if you work it right, once is enough. —JOE E. LEWIS”

-The funny thing about life is what you give is what you get out of it. If you don’t give your best, then you almost never get the best outcomes.

- “It’s a funny thing about life; if you refuse to accept anything but the best, you very often get it. —SOMERSET MAUGHAM”

-Loving and respecting yourself deeply is the first step to living abundantly

-The place where you live is one of the best descriptions of your authentic self… Tidy? Messy? New? Old fashioned? Spacious? Cozy? Decorations? Art? Animals?

-“start thinking of yourself as an artist and your life as a work-in-progress.”

Things told to do from author Sarah Ban Breathnach:

-Make a daily gratitude book, where you write down something what you’re thankful for once a day… if you do this you will truly realize you are a blessed and lucky person

-Imagine a golden mirror: each day you need to picture in it what you want in life and who you want to be… make this a daily practice

-Go back through the years in life (use photos & family members to help) and remember moments/things that made you truly happy. These things come together as your ‘authentic self’. They give you the insight you need to realize what will make you happy in the future too.

-If you find that your life is chaotic, reply the day in your head and pick out the moments that make you cringe and drive you crazy. Now, bring order to your life by having a plan to fix the moments.

-Spend 15 minutes each morning (in bed) and night (before sleeping) to self-reflect. This habit brings order to your life

6 Principles of Simple Abundance:

1.) Gratitude

- Having constant gratitude will make you aware to life’s abundance

- Gratitude is the basic pillar to having a positive and optimistic life

- Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life… It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity

-“If the only prayer you ever say in your life is ‘ThankYou,’ it will be enough.”

2.) Simplicity

-This is understanding moderation… treat yourself well and don’t be stingy, but alsodon’t spend money and time on things that your soul doesn’t need

3.) Order

-This isnt suppose to be done to make your life boring… far from that. Bring routines, habits, and helpful reminders to make life less stressful.

-Keeping a well-run, beautiful home is a great point of self-esteem

4.) Harmony

5.) Beauty

-It is in the ordinary and overlooked details of the everyday that beauty is revealed, sustained and nurtured

.

6.) Joy

-Happiness is your soul’s purpose

- The key to loving how you live is in knowing what it is you truly love.
